Tata SKY DVR ???

For those of you who are Tata Sky customers looking to get DVR , you are going to be disappointed ,their customer care is illiterate even as to the meaning of DVR. Here is their reply when i asked by when a DVR will be available on Tata Sky

So much for the ‘most advanced satellite TV service in India’.
Thats nothing! I have more funnier stuff to share about TataSky. After ordering their connection, they tried to make my life “Zhingalala” (Yes! that’s what they claim the customers’ life will become after installing TataSky). But I was not aware of its meaning, so I though it would be a good thing to happen. But I was again mistaken!
Their so called “Engineer” came with all the dish and wires, all ready to go. They told me that they will place ugly black wires all over my drawing room! I told them that I have spent a good sum to get a flat with internal wiring and my existing cable runs internally. They tried to talk me down by claiming some weired technical issues. They shut-up when I told them that I am an engineer and threw some more telecom jargons at them.
I told them that why they did NOT need to install dishes individually for each flat. They has Multistories master dish and amplifiers installed!
Then they told me that its an electrician’s job to do internal wiring, and I should hire one. when I asked in that case why should I pay Rs 1000 installation fee? they sent their electrician to lay the wire internally. I found him more intelligent to deal with than their “engineer’. The electrician informed me that he was inter pass and the “engineer” was an ITI certificate holder!!
During the installation they snapped the internal wiring and wanted to break down the wall! I intervened and showed them how to insert an iron wire to salvage the situation. Then their “engineer” made a wrong connection (mixed input with output). I had to debug this too! because they were blamming it on internal wiring.
I am sure if one is not tech savvy the TataSky people will make their life “Zinghalala” as promissed in their advertisement.
I would be glad if Tata Sky gets back Neo sports as that was the main idea why i took this connection. Can someone tell me as to when exactly will Tata Sky acquire the Sun network as last time they told me it would be in Jan 07 ???
@Jude – Neo Sports is asking too high a price from Tata Sky from what i gather and Tata has taken a chance, with popularity of cricket at an all time low, they thought it was now or never to drop the Neo sports channels.
