I read the lot, & most of the comments. I ordered supplements from bodybuilding.com. total cost was $120. Total weight was 3kg. Shipping was $55 UPS. The total cost, including shipping, was less than Rs 10000. The cost of the items only, was approx Rs 6300. Yet, the customs charged Rs 5482. At least thats what UPS told me. It seems customs was charged at 90%. I was under the impression there was no charge below Rs 10000. & that too on consumable products.

Following is my experience of purchase of tablet from chinabuye online site .I had paid 83.15 USD including air parcel (with tracking) the item reached through FPO to me at mulund and I was charged 42% customs duty on the customs assesed value of the item. I have observed that items purchased for self use is charged higher duty @ 42% whereas a commercial bulk importer is charged at approx.16.4% customs duty . This is sheer discrimination . My experience is that electronic items purchased on non indian online sites though sometimes cheaperin rupee value end to be costlier because of 42% customs duty . so beware

I had ordered a Padmini Cooktop 2 Burner CS-201 vide order number 924275471 on 5 April 2013.

The email I got from HomeShop18.com said "Your order has been shipped vide AWB no. 337627450 through Vendor Self . Please expect this to be delivered to you in 2-3 working days." It has been 12 days now and I have still not got the ordered product. For the last 5 days I have been calling HomeShop18.com customer care and each day I am told that the order will come within 1 working day. There is in no delivery in sight. I had wanted to know if I could get a call at least before the product comes so that I can arrange for it to be accepted. But HomeShop18.com seems least interested in delivering my product after they have taken my money.

I had bought Sony Bravia TV No. 32S400A in March 2009, from Kandivli. Within few months by Sept-Oct. 2011 the TV started giving problem like multiple vision, changing colors and finally complete dark black screen. After lots of complains, perusal and follow up the pannel was replaced to solve the problem. Now again last two months I am facing the same problem with the screen image. The service center sent the man (complain No. 013595273), who confirmed that pannel has to be replaced. This time I really lost my faith in Sony brand. While making a choice for the TV among other many competitive brands I went for Sony paying higher price, thinking that it is a good product. But now my faith is shaken. How could a customer who is spending around Rs.40,000 plus going to spend another Rs.11,000 plus every one & half year and that is also after lots of hardship. I have my request to you that replacing the pannel should be done without any coast. I am ready to bear service charges. This is the minimum I aspect from a brand like Sony. Please don't let my trust shake in you.
