For those of you who buy on ebay and think that negative feedback  is a tool to fight against fraudulent sellers, think again. I was recently dis-satisfied with a seller due to the seller failing at all standards. What was more was that the seller didn’t respond to a few of my emails and selectively replied to 1 ignoring others. The transaction was not smooth at all and I had to face a lot of hardship. What was more was that this seller had a history of such sour deals all over the internet. They also deal via mail order catalogues and had a lot of negative feedback. The seller had deliberately stated false information in the listing, shipped late , mis-spelled my address etc..

Anyway, after I left negative feedback, the seller’s sleep vanished, suddenly I was getting calls and all my emails were replied to after the feedback. A week later this seller applied to ebay community court wherein users vote on issues regarding feedback disputes. This seller wrote a 5 line dispute with little info and lies. I exposed these lies in my reply which had a good 12 points.

Here is the fraud support by ebay, the seller is allowed to post another reply to buyer’s feedback justification while the buyer may not post any such thing. The fraudier part is that the buyer cant even see what lies and web the seller has spun. The policy is tilted into the favour of the seller and essentially is against the principle of justice wherein each person should get equal right to present their case.

Also the community court voters seem like disinterested folks who probably cant differentiate between a fly and an elephant. Anyway, I am happy that negative feedback against this seller is swelling everyday. Hopefully ebay will kick him out, but it seems he is using the court to remove other people’s negative feedbacks too.

Just to give you a magnitude of the ebay fraud , this seller had 29 negative feedback in 1 month yesterday, and its only 21 today, this seller seems to have learnt how to bend rules and continue cheating people ignoring the so called good selling policies of ebay. As his volume is high, it seems even ebay is reluctant to take action against this seller.

Seriously Ebay, you need to become better and get rid of this community court hogwash or atleast make it transparent ! Who had a court in which one party doesnt get to see and respond to the other party’s arguments.

Update : By working with Ferns N Petals customer care, we have been able to bring this issue to resolution

Regular readers may remember a previous post on Ferns and Petals. This is in continuation to that, I will give a short recap anyway. So here goes, I had sent a bouquet of flowers to my dad on his birthday via Ferns and Petals‘s official website fnp.in. And it turned out to be one of the worst decisions of my life.

The flowers were decayed and browning, the buds hadn’t opened in a number of flowers, they weren’t fresh and to rub salt to our wounds, the design was different from what was on the website. So going ahead, I wrote an email to these guys asking them to replace the flowers, got no response.

Then I filed a Paypal dispute against these thieves, I got a reply after a few days :

We have received a complaint from your side for the below order.

Please advice what will be the best way to correct the mistake done from our vendor side.

This had travelled a large way inside their company , anyway I asked them to send a gift of the same value as the flowers to my dad as compensation and to set things right so that I use their services in the future as well.

But by now they probably realized that Paypal disputes for Significantly not as Described aren’t handled unless they happened via Ebay, so I never got a reply :( .

New Update

They replied to me after I sent this link saying that they had never received my earlier mail, they sent my dad a gift of the same value as the flowers I has purchased earlier, my parents confirmed its of good quality. Hence all’s well that ends well :) , maybe I will give them another try later on as eventually the customer care did come through even if it was after many days.

Tata Indicom clearly is the most idiotic company to have existed in the world. If disconnecting my wireline internet wasnt enough, if having a stupid login page for all prepaid customers wasn’t enough, their new Photon + service also gave away today.

These guys always pick the wrong guy to mess with, I break their incompetence publicly and that just embarrasses them.

I have been using the photon+ service for over a month now. Today suddenly my photon+ stopped working. I promptly emailed the customer care with the error I was getting. In the afternoon I get a call that some papers are missing in my application thats why the internet is now working. Sure enough I called the dealer with whom I had deposited everything, all papers had been sent to Tata Indicom.

Then later I got another call from these morons. They claim that I am on a 2GB plan and have accrued a bill of 8000 rupees and hence my Internet is disconnected. My current month’s usage is around 4277MB BTW. What the Tata Indicom billing system does is that is charges 2 rupees for every MB will your bill is generated. After that it deducts 10GB of usage from the chargeable amount and presents the bill. So the amount keeps on accumulating till the bill is generated. But their own customer care cant understand that. Moreover the number from which I had received the call is now switched off.

Apparently to them 10240MB is equal to 2GB or 4277>10240 , either case maths lessons are needed by TATA.Data Plan

fnp.in is the website of a company Ferns and Petals which claims  to provide ‘good quality flowers’ However the flowers are pathetic and decayed.

I had sent a bouquet to my dad on his birthday via the Ferns and Petals website, my parents told me that the flowers came but were decayed and already browning. The flowers aren’t fresh as claimed on their website.

I wrote feedback on their website to replace the flowers otherwise i shall be forced to publish their pathetic quality of products and service, but as expected I got no reply.

So please avoid fnp.in like the swine flu, its bad quality flowers , forever !

Its ironical that all this is happening to me. I was perhaps the only person on the Internet who used to praise the services of Tata Indicom VSNL Broadband. The truth was that it was reliable and my last level engineers were good pals with me so I could get faults corrected easily and fast. Infact I think I contributed to the promotion of one of the engineers in my area by giving good feedback about him ( TATA people must have been shocked, what is this guy doing in our company ?).

Anyway, continuing from my previous post. Tata Indicom broadband illegally disconnected my prepaid broadband connection on 21st May in the evening.They are discontinuing Wireline services in my area, so only wireless services via Wimax will be provided.

Checkout the letter below, I should mention I received the letter on 21st May, one day after the date mentioned on it. I wonder what the person drafting the letter was thinking, why the hell would I even think of using dial-up in this era. Maybe he is living 10 years in the past.

I have been in touch with their nodal officer and countless employees. Despite requesting politely for priority reconnection, I haven’t been given any. Infact, in all their emails they will mention that my complaint is being handled on priority, but on the phone everyone is quick to point out that preferential treatment is out of question. “Sir, it takes 7 days on minimum to get the Wimax installed” is what i hear most often. Its been 3 days since I got my network disconnected. Tomorrow being a Sunday is a holiday, so the focus shifts to Monday. I am hellbent on ensuring that the person who got my connection disconnected faces the music for all my woes. Looking at legal options and precedents also. Apparently I have a good case due to the fact that the letter seems to be predated. Someone probably forgot to mail them on time or probably the letters were an afterthought. Also looking at MTNL Triband as an alternative to this connection.

Moreover to get my internet on again, I have to get this Wimax Antenna installed on my house’s roof which is owned by someone else but according to our sale agreement, we are allowed to place stuff on the roof including antennae and water tanks . More stuff to take care of then. Mr. Ratan Tata, had i not purchased shares and FDs in your company, I would be praying for their failures :P , I wonder which broadband you use for your home ? BSNL , best hai ! And thanks for starting TISCO, the rally in its shares was great for my budget.

Just a quick post to let you guys know that Tata Indicom Broadband VSNL has disconnected my broadband wireline service in an absurd way. I got a letter in the morning that the day before is last day of browsing as they are removing all wired connections in Delhi city (which is a BLATANT LIE) and sure enough on 21st May 2009 Tata Indicom broadband disconnected my connection without giving me any intimation. For a while I had thought it was a line failure but their engineer confirmed it.

Tata Indicom broadband is indeed the worst service to go for, dont go for it unless you are stuck with it like me. They have absolutely no regards for customers or any work they may have to do. Treat Tata Communications with contempt. Almost all Tata brands are filled to the brim with arrogance and a pathetic level of customer service and regard.

Please boycott Tata Indicom broadband/VSNL if you believe in consumer rights and can identify with how lowly this move by Tata was to cut my internet with 6 hours of notice.
