Turns out all that shouting I had done on the Tata Indicom broadband guys finally gave some result. The installation guys were here on a Sunday. After asking the neighbours to let us use the roof for the antenna it was smooth sailing all along. Although they did try to play spoilsport by asking us to install the antenna below etc. Later on they asked us to try and install the Tata sky dish in front of our house also. Anyway, will handle that later. Need to get a copy of our house agreement.
The photos below show the sleek antenna in its full glory after the installation. Its a Telisma model Antenna. Will show the indoor photos of the antenna which I had taken later on. The last photo shows the clamp used to secure the antenna.
Sorry for the ugly watermarks, but these are sort of personal photos and hence marked.

A review on the installation, usage and performance plus pros and cons will follow. There is a slight problem with DNS settings and all as I have a dynamic IP address, it sometimes hangs and i need to change the DNS, dunno what that is about.

Use OpenDNS DNS server, I have been using those ip for my tata indicom wireline broadband since 2006, no problems faced. you can even customise a filter so that unwanted sites will not open.
FYI, openDNS server IPs are: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

Hey nice post. i also got the Wimax connection. The antenna could not be put up on my gallery which is on the 6th floor and i had to somehow persuade my neighbors on the 4th floor to install it there as the tata guys had a weird restriction of not putting the antenna above 12 mts in height. Do you have any information on it? Now whenever there is any problem with the antenna i have big issues as it is not readily accessible to me..

@Chandan – Yes there is such a policy. Same is the problem with me, I have got the worst neighbours imaginable. Even though I have a right to place antennas etc. on the roof they act like they are doing me a big favour.
Its just something you will have to deal with. Its been 5 months since my antenna was installed, touch wood , till now it hasnt given me any problems. Hoping it will remain the same.
