Our Iphone for India posts are indeed the most popular posts on the blog ever with around 500 comments :O , anyway i was reading Techcrunch today and it seems that the new Apple Iphone 3G will be sold only with a contract. Moreover it will be activated in-store only. So unlike last time you wont be able to buy the phone without contract and unlock it. Apple and AT&T surely have learnt their lesson, but this strategy will ofcourse decrease total Apple Iphone sales while increasing AT&T customer numbers. This is because earlier people were buying the Iphone to unlock it, but now that wont be happening. Also more people will be forced to activate and stay with AT&T, meaning more customers for them and rivals will be losing customers. T-Mobile needs to think quick now
Also cancelling it will need $175 , so Iphone 3G may not be the next big thing after all. Disappointing !

Well Indian colleges were already advertising in the newspapers, on TV channels, perhaps the only media left was the Internet. But that too has been captured it seems, see the ad below by Amity :
Any comments ? Are those claims genuine ?

Ah well , you helped Firefox set a new world record, not get a certificate to show for it too. Realising that fans would probably want to show off their feat spread Firefox is allowing people to generate certificates.
Here is what they look like :

Get your own certificate from : Spread Firefox
The funny part is i used IE to generate that certificate just to check it.
Also this has been a great marketing exercise, lets hope Microsoft realises this and their next Windows Update is also documented.

I have a few songs bookmarked on Youtube, which i usually listen to when i am feeling bored.
But WTH ! , Youtube seems to be blocking content on the basis of country now which is totally outrageous. Also i noticed there is no email contact to send a query to youtube, only a snail mail address. Pathetic from them ! I was able to see this video before the Youtube India site was launched.
We had all these interviews from Youtube India’s new boss in the newspapers telling how Youtube India will be great, but i am terribly disappointed.
Anyone else too got the “this video is not available in your country” message from Youtube ?

Well they never did well for us, Google has decided to pull the plug on their Adsense referrals program , the Firefox referrals thingy in our sidebar will be a thing of the past.
We got this email :
Hello,
Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals programme. We
will be retiring the AdSense Referrals programme during the last
week of August. After that time, AdSense Referrals code will no
longer display ads.
If you currently use referrals, either to promote Google products
or offerings from AdWords advertisers, we encourage that you take
the following steps before the product is retired:
* Remove all referral code from your site(s): Please take a
moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last
week of August, so that you can continue to effectively monetise
your ad space.
* Replace your referral ads with AdSense for content ads: If
you have less than three AdSense for content ad units on a page,
we recommend replacing referral ad units with standard AFC ad
units. This will minimise the risk of decreased AdSense earnings
when the Referrals programme is retired.
* Run and save all referrals reports to your desktop: All
Referrals reports will no longer be available at the end of
October.
