Our sources tell us that a new web and mobile search service by the name of Whatsopen is about to launch. The site’s developers say that they have around 1 lakh beta users already who are currently evaluating the various features of the service. The service’s open beta is set to launch before the end of this year and promises to be quite a high profile launch.

Some of the innovative features promised by the site include location based searches according to the timings , users can generate location information and the fact that you can use your mobile’s GPS with this site. The site claims that using your GPS location it will be able to tell you about places that you seek which are near you and open.

The features promised look great, but lets wait for the launch to see if they can compete with the likes of Yahoo and Google who seem to be the giants in this field.
