I came across route guru website and have been doing a comparision of route guru and mapmyindia, and they are both good in their own ways. Route guru can sms and mapmyindia cannot

Though Mapmyindia has relaunched its website check it out @ http://www.mapmyindia.com

I liked the Pan india coverage on Mapmyindia, found it to be cool.

Frankly speaking, if its a one man army then this startup looks even promising. Taking an idea to such a wide stage isn’t possible alone in normal circumstances.

Another thought is that it is also not a bad idea to remain alone till the prototype is ready. I myself have given a try and seen approx. 20 good guys around struggling.

However, routeguru on the other side has been quite different so far in the GIS space. So far I know with the correspondence with them, they are now in the process of working on the aspect of building the team, business, enhancements dedicatedly.

RouteGuru is still in Alpha. They just won 10 lacs to start the service from techtribe.com and the man behind it is a friend of a friend of mine(nothing wrong here).

He doesn’t plan to go into beta stage until December and wants to make his service perfect. It’s a one man army which is the main flaw in the system. The number of people on the about page is merely to show a glorified image of the kind of people working on the project.
